BABYBJORN Baby Carrier Active, White, Mesh (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

I originally purchased the bjorn active. I knew I wanted one that had the extra back support, I had considered the active because of the mesh. Believe me I done extensive research on carriers before I made a decision. I compared many brands, styles, etc....I knew a bjorn would be best for me because my 3 month old daughter loves to face out, not many carriers offer this feature. I got the bjorn active and loved it immediatly, my only negative was that the fabric was thick and a little stiff, the product book that came with it showed all the models, I had not read that much about the synergy, I did not realize it was like the active and air combined. Once I discovered the synergy had the back support plus it was made of the mesh I decided to send the active back and get the synergy. Best choice I could have made, it is much cooler, a lot softer and more flexible. Anyone who needs a carrier I would definetly recommend this one, it is awesome, both of my hands are free. By the way I also own a sling type carrier to, it's o.k. but i just never felt that safe with it. The bjorn's are very safe feeling; the child is completly secure and it is an awsome feature how you take the baby out it opens all the way and lets the baby out. This is a really great product, it is a little pricey but believe me it has already paid for it self. My back already hurt just from lugging her around all the time, and yes after a while it hurts with this, but is there really gonna be anything that will prevent this, I doubt it anytime you are packing 10 to 20 extra pounds around your gonna hurt. If you are in the market for a carrier I highly recommend the bjorn synergy, try it if you don't like it send it back, but I think you'll want it after the first use.

My LO is quite hot-natured and sweats easily, AND I live in Texas, AND he was born in June (so I was carrying him around during the hottest months of the year.) This product worked quite well, compared to other products. I could keep him close (which he liked) without worrying about him sweating to death, because the fabric is quite breathable. For the same reason, I like that it's white, rather than dark-colored. It's easy to wash, holds up well, and after 8 months of routine use, it still looks great. I have recently opted for another carrier, because my LO is getting too heavy for me to use this comfortably (he's over 20 lbs now.) He also prefers the outward-facing position now, and his arms are getting too long for me to do anything with him in the carrier without him getting into whatever I'm doing. I now use a carrier that has a side-carrying option. Oh, one other thing: rather than buying the brand bib things for the carrier, I just put a regular bib on my LO and let it hang over the edge of the carrier.

I'm a huge BabyBjorn fan! I cannot say enough about how much I love this brand. With my older 8 year old, we had the classic BabyBjorn, which I absolutely loved and used it everywhere. It was very sad when she got too big to use the carrier. I was always so impressed with the quality of the BabyBjorn carriers and the durable materials used, and how comfortable it is compared to other carriers (I have a bad back, due to car accident several years ago, and never had an issue using the BabyBjorn). After my daughter was too big for hers, I passed it along to some friends, and they loved it too. So, when several years later we find out that we're expecting twins, I knew I wanted to get another BabyBjorn. I actually got this one for my husband, because we are avid outdoor folks, and we do a lot of hiking and spending time outside. The lightweight, breathable and moisture wicking fabric seemed like the perfect choice for the sorts of things we'd be doing once the twins are big enough for such adventures (I also do field work, and my husband and daughter often come out into the field with me for an afternoon, so having a nice carrier that stays cool will be a must). Also, this is definitely where we found the best price for it (and we looked around quite a bit before purchasing it). We will probably get a second Synergy carrier for me, once we know for sure whether the Synergy is worth the extra price over the classic (I'll be sure to update my review once we know for sure), so that each of us can have a good lightweight carrier (for the first few months, while recovering, I will be using a Moby Wrap for baby wearing, which will give us plenty of time to see if we want to invest in a second Synergy for both twins). Since I already know how much I love the BabyBjorn brand, I gave it 4 stars, but if I think it's definitely worth the extra money for the Synergy over the other models, I will certainly come back and upgrade my review to 5 stars.

my baby is 2.5 months old, i carry him inside carrier facing me. It is comfortable for me and seems he is feeling good as well, even fell asleep inside, however it doesnt support his head (it reaches about half the height of his head) though the baby's height is average. Probably when he grows older and faces out it will be more comfortable for him.btw I also tried the 'Active' model and the Synergy is more comfortable for me. But I think the 'Active' gave better suport to baby's head.

I was so excited to get this in the mail. I slipped it on and put my daughter in...first of all, in the forward position the flap that is folded down reaches right at the baby's mouth so they are gagging essentially. The major "NO" factor is that my baby's thighs after literally 5 minutes of use were bright red and I mean painful looking. She was excited to be facing forward but there is no way I am keeping this. Too many things are wrong with this carrier. Skip it!

i'm not saying this is not a good product, but its too small for my child, this product is good for a new born till three months old.
