The Best FPS
Titanfall is the best FPS I have ever played. It is the best game currently out there for the Xbox One. I am 46 and have been playing video/computer games since pong. Games played in first person perspective, whether shooters like Call of Duty or adventure games like Skyrim are by far my favorite style of gameplay. Titanfall takes that format of gaming and combines the best elements of shooters like COD and adds to it the ability to operate a Titan (Mech). I loved the old Mech Warrior games but this games makes it so much more fun to play. The old mech games were much harder to control and you spent so much time keeping the mech moving in the right direction while shooting. In Titanfall on the Xbox One it is just as simple as playing a pilot. Run, walk, duck, sprint and shoot the exact same way you would as a solider on the ground. Combat with Titans is plain awesome, but so is combat with a pilot. The mechanics are very similar to Call of Duty and other combat FPS games but the inclusion of Jet packs give you all kinds of parkour capabilities. One of my big complaints with combat FPS games is getting to the high ground for sniping. The best places were always out of reach. Not in Titanfall. It feels like being Spiderman as you run on walls and double jump to heights unobtainable in previous shooters without jetpacks. In games like Halo when you used your jetpack you become an easy target flying out in the open. In Titanfall the jumping and wall-running are best done in close quarters such as hallways, alleyways and such. You can make your way up to the top of the urban landscape without being overly exposed. Never fear, there does not seem to be any fall damage, so climb as high as you want. Another great feature is unlimited ammo. You still have to reload, but you don’t have to scavenge ammo off bodies or simply run out and die. Titanfall was designed to keep you fighting, not frustrated. The visuals are just as good as the gameplay. The maps are well thought out and can expose the strengths and weaknesses of your Titan and pilot “load out” choices. Detail level is great and it has all the eye candy you would expect in a next gen console game. That brings me to the only con I found. It can be a little choppy when everyone is on screen blasting away at once. It is not that bad, but it is noticeable. Maybe if I was running the game on a high-end PC gaming platform with dual GeForce Titan video cards, 32GB of memory and a top quality ultra-high resolution monitor the visuals would have been better. The downside to that platform is it costs thousands of dollars for a system that is obsolete in 3 or 4 years. For the same price I can buy a 60” TV, an Xbox One, and a subscription to GameFly for the next 10 years.

A seismic shift forward in the FPS genre
At the Xbox One launch, I reluctantly purchased Call of Duty: Ghosts and instantly regretted the decision. The thrill that I had when I played Call of Duty 4 urged me to continue purchasing the annual release, but with each year's release (Especially beginning with MW3, BlOps2, and now Ghosts) it is blatently clear that the FPS formula is tired and uninspired (honestly having few major refinements since Quake). Call of Duty: Ghosts made me sad. Call of Duty: Ghosts made me feel like the FPS genre (that I love) was running on fumes and had nothing left to do to reinvent itself. Then the Titanfall beta happened. Titanfall feels familiar to Call of Duty in the button configuration and basic mechanics, but the addition of jetpacks brings the consideration of verticality into the players equation. While "camping" had its benefits in COD, this is not the case in Titanfall. The verticality forces the player to continue moving as there are few "safe" areas to camp. Similarly, the inclusion of jetpacks for brief double jumps and wall runs creates opportunity to scale many buildings and jump across rooftops. I found myself having to relearn the FPS formula as Titanfall's fluidity offered so many more options for the player. Graphically, the game looks great (not outstanding). But that is second to the level design and sharp controls. If you want a game that looks great (at the expense of gameplay) please buy Ryse. If you want a game that plays well and truly feels "next gen," Titanfall is the game for you. Unlike others, I do not have a problem with the lack of a single player campaign. There is an "attempt" at a campaign (labeled "campaign") but i'm not sure I could write a one-sentence synopsis. But is that really a bad thing? Many FPS gamers only pay attention to the multiplayer component and this practice (of not including a single player campaign) isn't being pioneered by Respawn here. It's a AAA title without a single player (but with a REALLY good multiplayer). My only gripe is a lack of multiplayer diversity. One would think that if the game lacks a single player then it would be brimming with multiplayer options. That isn't the case here. Don't get me wrong, the included modes are fun (expect for "Last Titan Standing"), but I do think more variety would be nice. Articles on the web suggest that DLC and updates should add modes (and up resolution. Gotta have more "P" because more "P" is better! Sigh. This resolution bit reminds me to the "bit" wars of the 90's. Few could tell you what a bit was then, few can explain the significance of a game in marginally higher resolution now.) Pros: + Spectacular controls and gameplay + Takes the FPS genre forward by throwing verticality and significant movement into the equation + Good, balanced maps + Nice balance between pilots and titans + Great (not outstanding graphics) + Good online service (no server problems to date) Cons: - Lack of variety in multiplayer 4.75/5 (Five Stars)

Super Fun Game, But A Shadow of What It Could Have Been - A Good Buy Now That It's Cheap
3.5 stars if I could (looks like Amazon customers agree). I first must start out by stating that I LOVE playing this game, and would recommend it to anyone now that it's cheap - its mechanics, gameplay, graphics, etc. are fantastic, its a blast to play with friends, particularly since its an exclusive. However, there's always a small part of me that feels disappointed in what the game could have been. I bought this new off a third party seller here for less than $20, which was a great deal. However, if I would have paid the full $60 at launch for it, I would have felt VERY let down. My issues, which are still very affected by the fact that the game is/was $60 at retail: A big complaint - there is no REAL campaign. They didn't try to hide it, but still. It seems stupid sometimes, but many people & gamers (including me) would be so much more sucked in by some sort of story. Campaigns in shooters can have very fun unique missions and provide some sort of context/connection behind the premise of the game. Hire a writer to create a clever, even somewhat cliche story for the campaign and spend some more time on the design, and it would have made the game much better, even if it wasn't at a high standard. Multiplayer is what this game is, and it's fantastic, but even that has its shortcomings. The amount of maps the game comes with, along with some minor customization gripes and missing features like private play, more modes, etc. are unacceptable. You have to pay a little extra cash for more maps, and still hope for more promised DLC, which may or may not come. It definitely borrows heavily from the mechanics/feel of Call of Duty, but not in a bad way. More options would definitely improve the play. Other than that, its still a fun game, and if you're among others like me who finally got convinced to buy an XBOX One at the end of this year because of the holiday pricing, Master Chief Collection, or whatever, I would highly recommend getting this game. It will entertain you for many hours on end. Like me, you will also likely find yourself thinking that it is a good, fun game, but that had the potential to be a classic.

So much fun it hangs on the edge of ridiculous
I have played a ton of shooters; from the Halo series and Gears of War to Killzone and Call of Duty. I can say this with sure honesty, I have never ever played anything like this before. No, it does not have a single player campaign but trust me you don't want one. Titanfall has found a way to make solo campaigns seem unnecessary. Now with saying that let me tell you that there is a campaign and although it is multiplayer it makes you feel that all the solo campaigns that you have spent hours on through other games a complete waste. Now I am not suggesting that you do away with solo campaigns for good in all games because then you wouldn't have great characters like Master Chief or Fenix. However once you have completed your solo missions on Halo, Killzone, COD, Battlefield or any other shooter you have there is only one logical step to take next...Multiplayer. This games gives you all the adrenaline, heart racing, pumped up action you want from the start and doesn't slow down. From traversing from wall to wall, building to building, invisibility, speed and oh yes did I mention the big ass robots. With Titanfall you have the experience of a classic run and walk around shooter (but don't even think about standing in once spot for too long or camping because you'll be toast) you also get a shooter that provides you with powerful mechanical Titans that can do so much. From using a force field to capture enemies ammo attacks and throwing them back to literally ripping an opposing enemy out of there Titan and crushing him or her in your large robotic hand. Don't let the size of the machines fool you either. While there is a Titan that is faster than the rest, more powerful than the rest, and more mean that the rest; they all have a sense of motion that never lets you down. You will always be faster as a pilot on the ground but you don't feel like you're walking in quicksand while in these massive Titans either. You can sprint in these robots (all of them), jump, stomp, and shoot whatever gun you load them with. Now with anything of this mass you won't be able to walk into buildings with them but why would you want to. Stand and fight, use your shields, rockets, guns, and yes; one hell of a robotic melee attack against another Titan. This game will give you the fun of multiplayer like you have never experienced and once you play it you just might feel awkward returning to anything else!

Strikes a balance with being simple, yet requiring skillful movement and shooting.
Titanfall is a game that means a lot to me. It was the first game I bought for the Xbox One that I played to death. It was the first game I had, in recent memory, maxed out in rank (I became a generation 10, level 50 a couple months ago). This was before the Rank Chip was introduced in the latest update, as I'm still working to reach Tier 5 Diamond (I am a completionist, after all). It was the first game I could call Xbox One's first killer app that also happened to be a new IP. I've played this game since the day it came out, so I've seen every update and enhancement from day one to the present. From the over powered satchel charges (they were like mini nukes) to the Titan Punch's ability to send opposing titans flying twice as far backwards, to Nuclear Ejection explosions being twice as big to becoming somewhat more balanced, this game has mostly changed for the better. Titanfall requires you to be adept not just with shooting the standard weapons, but with movement, positioning, and Titan combat. Being able to outmaneuver your opponent as a pilot or Titan is just as important as being accurate with your shots. You also have to consider when to use Burn Cards, cards that grant the user temporary abilities, like being able to see every threat on the battlefield through Map Hack, being able to call in a Reserve titan at the beginning of the match, and having a high damage version of the standard carbine or Archer homing missile launcher. Just one of these cards can level the playing field, or turn the tide entirely. Then, there are pilot and titan abilities. I personally lean towards quick reload and warpfall transmitter as a pilot, as it saves time for increasing your rate of fire for weapons, and for the latter, gets your titan into battle quicker, as well as gives you a better chance to crush an opponent by dropping your titan on them (you even get a satisfying *squish* when you make contact with a poor little pilot). The weapons themselves may be standard fare, assault rifles, shotguns, sniper rifles, and rocket launchers, but there's enough variety in them to make them fun to use. Like using the Plasma Railgun to pop pilots into bloody chunk balloons. An impressive feature of this game on paper is using Microsoft's cloud servers to render AI in matches. In practice, however, these guys, from the grunts, to specters, and enemy titans, are merely cannon fodder used to fund attrition points and decrease the clock for your next titan drop. However, it makes you wonder how future games will utilize this feature. At the moment, the player count for the game's population is pitiful, as most online console gamers are preoccupied with Destiny and past Call of Duty games, but there are enough people currently playing in order to get you into a match relatively quickly. Just be sure to select your correct zone at the start of the screen by pressing X and selecting the zone with the lowest ping. I look forward to what Respawn will do in the inevitable sequel, and hope players keep this game alive in the meantime.

Leaves You Wanting More
I knew before purchasing Titanfall that it did not have a "true" campaign to it. This game is strictly multiplayer, so if you are hoping for anything more than that, this isn't the game for you. Pros: 1. Graphics and Effects For a next gen game, the graphics are pretty impressive. They aren't perfect - sometimes one color can dominate a level. However, frame rates seem to be pretty good. Nothing to complain about there. One of the coolest effects I've noticed is how the controller will rumble as titans' footsteps get closer or if you are moving in a titan. Makes you feel like you are present in the game. 2. Fast-paced Multiplayer Experience Compared to COD, this game plays much faster. Spring across spacious maps searching for the other players is pretty exciting. There's not a whole let of method to the madness, though. COD, at least to me, seems more tactical. This game plays a little more like Halo. Cons: 1. Depth I bought Titanfall with full awareness of what it is - a multiplayer only experience. That being said, there seems to be so much lacking. For a next gen game, having only 6v6 for levels as spacious as these makes finding other pilots difficult. Finding the bots is easy and at least helps give beginners some sense of how to play. But finding other actual players is not very common. There are only 9 or so maps. I know more are coming with DLC, but 9 levels with a multiplayer only game gets very repetitive. You will literally only do one of a few things in this game - kill everything, king of the hill, capture the flag, and a couple of other game modes. 2. Customization Some of this does not bother me, but some will probably annoy the average player. The lack of customization compared to other FPS is very apparent. There are fewer weapons, attachments, explosives, perks, etc. This doesn't bother me so much - I like playing a simpler game. The customization of the titans, though, is something that the developers could have spent more time on. I mean, come on, you're in this big mech, why not let me paint it or add attachments to it, or decals or something? Throw us a bone here. 3. Stats The stat reporting in this game is too complicated. The simple K/D ratios we all know and love don't quite make sense. Also, some of the stats they give you seem pretty pointless. I mean, who cares how far my titan has sprinted? The biggest complaint here is there is no way for me to compare stats with friends. I have no idea what I'm ranked, what I'm ranked in, or what any of my friends are ranked. How long would it take the developers to have put this in the game? It's so simple and any FPS shooter should have this at this point. 4. No Split-Screen I understand no co-op with the campaign being what it is. But I can't understand why no split screen. I can't invite my friends over to play it because only one person can play at once. It's not a party game. At least COD lets you do that. All-in-all, it's not a horrible game, but there's a lot missing here that a next gen FPS game should have. I'm just not super impressed with this console-exclusive title. Step it up, Microsoft and Respawn.

The next great FPS
Titanfall is all about fast paced action, fluid controls and stylish parkouring. It can easily be ridiculed for simply being "Call of Duty with mech's" because of its similar reload animations and weapon designs. Make no mistake that Titanfall is a totally different game in its own right. You can wall run, double jump, and sprint your way around each of the games 15 maps ranging from rich mountaintop bases to dilapidated cities and burned out beaches. Each map does a fantastic job of making you feel like it was once inhabited thus giving it substance and a hint of the games lore. 9 of these levels are especially well done since they take on a general theme even though the story never really seems to take off. This brings us to one of Titanfalls shortcomings: the Campaign Multiplayer. From the main menu, you are tasked with choosing one of three modes: Campaign Multiplayer, Classic Multiplayer and Training. The former assumes you in the role of the IMC and Militia(IMC must be played first) where you battle for supremacy and take down enemy players. The whole story seems like an afterthought, and I honestly couldn't tell you a single thing about it even after playing through the 9 Campaign maps as each faction. Luckily, the radio chatter can (and most likely will) be ignored throughout the missions and you will eventually forget it's even there so I wouldn't consider it distracting. My favorite aspect of the campaign came from experiencing different insertion points and pre-battle sequences. They really put you knee deep into the conflict, and it does a good job of getting your blood boiling before the bullets start flying. Respawn left many gamers concerned when they announced Titanfall would only support 6 vs. 6 but I can assure you, each round is as hectic as if there were 24, or even 30 players running around at the same time. This is a double-edged sword though, because the majority of movement comes from infinitely generating AI grunts and spectres. After playing a handful of matches, I found that the presence of the AI often encouraged bad gameplay habits. For example, if you see an enemy running near a hard point objective, your instinct would be to take them out before they can capture it, but if it turns out to be an npc, you will often draw unwanted attention to yourself and give human enemies a free kill. To be fair, human-controlled pilots are clearly highlighted on your radar with a large, solid red dot, but often times they wouldn't show up on my minimap(not sure if it's a glitch or because they were cloaked). With every kill, my eyes would glance down to the bottom of the screen looking to see if my stylish takedown was against a human or a brain-dead npc running towards an objective(mostly the latter), and that's really discouraging, if not annoying. Some of my worst games occurred because I couldn't get a handle on where my enemies were, and despite my good aim and aggressiveness towards the AI soldiers, it only made me look like I did absolutely nothing for the team. At the start of each match, everyone has a countdown timer indicating when they are able to drop their titan in the battlefield. Killing human pilots as well as the AI grunts shaves seconds away from your timer which allows you to drop your titan faster. This creates an interesting strategy that forces you to net points to get your armored beast summoned as quickly as possible. Titan combat is just as fluid as being a pilot, despite the main difference of dashing rather than jumping to be your main method of evasion. The three titan types, (or chassis) all have their own separate stats which leaves it up to the player to decide which one is right for each situation. One is slow and powerful, another has less health but moves faster, etc. There's such an amazing balance between the coexistence of pilots and titans. Running and gunning only gets you so far, and you need to play it smart, especially if the other team is working together. Each battle in Titanfall essentially plays out the same, and it's disappointing to note the gametypes aren't exactly innovative for a game trying to set itself apart from the norm. Team deathmatch and capture the flag are a standard affair, while hard point domination essentially is a capture and hold (like Call of Duty's Domination game type). Pilot vs. Pilot and Last Titan Standing aren't all that interesting either, since the core aspect of the game centers around the combination of running and gunning as a pilot while titans wreak havoc on their own accord. One cool feature is the addition of burn cards, which are essentially buffs that apply to a single life that can be chosen before each match. You can hold up to three per game, and they can range from an upgraded weapon to faster movement. It gives you an added sense of strategy when deciding on which cards to take with you between matches. Each location in Titanfall has its own visual flair, and there are tons of subtle touches that allow you to essentially get around the entire map without ever touching the ground. This takes practice though, and understanding the ups and downs of each map is essential to gaining any advantage on your foes. Titanfall isn't a perfect game though, and like the beta, it suffers from a lower resolution (792p) and various performance problems. Although the art style for this game is often really nice to look at, this is not what you would expect out of a next generation game. During play, you will notice frequent screen tearing and frame rate dips when things get hectic, and that hurts considering this is already a conservatively optimized game. The Pilot and Titan customizations leave a lot to be desired as well. First of all, it's weird that you can't rename your loadouts or alter the look of your soldier (other than changing your gender). Equipping different weapons comes with a pre-set character model so it's not like the different outfits don't exist, it just sucks you are forced to look a certain way depending on what weapon you choose. The unlockable weapons are mostly bland and uninteresting (even though they all carry a nice oomph to them and are fun to use) and there are far too few perks. As far as connection, I am happy to announce that I experienced little to no lag when running through a broadband connection (15mbps). Verdict: This game doesn't redefine first person shooters, but if you are looking for a breath of fresh air for the annual releases of Call of Duty and Battlefield, then Titanfall is a more than worthy competitor. Sure, It has technical problems, a pointless backstory and npc's that may get you killed here and there, but it's all fleshed out to create a fantastic multiplayer game that can be summed up with addictive gameplay, a fleshed out progression system, amazing control and awesome level design. Pros Aesthetically pleasing environments Commendable Campaign multiplayer Addicting Progression Fluid Controls Encourages teamwork Burn cards give an added level of strategy to pre-game Cons Performance problems AI can be a nuisance Pointless story Limited customization options Bland weapons

Know what you're buying. And Why.
First off, there seem to be a lot of reviews complaining about a lack of single player. This is something that we all were made aware of when the reveal was made. Here is what the game REALLY is: -First Person Shooter (FPS) like Call of Duty, but on crack -Multiplayer only (no split-screen, no campaign, no co-op) -A combination of old and new, for a perfect FPS experience. There have been lots of random complaints. I'll address those here: 720p Only/Poor Framerate Yes. It is 720p only on the Xbox One. Is that the best? No. However, the people that I hear complaining about graphics seem to be missing the point of Titanfall. The game was never designed to blow graphics out of the water, or to redefine a genera, it was made to be the single best FPS multiplier of all time. The best games of our history don't need the graphics, because the game itself is good enough. Did they achieve that? Well that's up to each of you. Personally not my favorite game, but definitely in the top 3. No Single Player We have known about this since day one. Do your research before buying a game. Or anything for that matter. No PS4 Wa. Get over it. It doesn't have anything to do with the quality of the game, just how much Microsoft thought it was worth to keep it exclusive. No Co-op/Slit Screen THIS IS WHY IT DID NOT GET 5 stars. Granted, it is not a deal breaker. The game is great, but for a large portion of us that liked to play split screen Zombies, Survival or Extinction? Now we are SOL. This is really the only drawback I see. Campaign is short/terrible I am inclined to agree. I don't see the point in the campaign. The story is so hard to follow while you are dealing with non-stop action from Titans and Pilots, so at the end of a level, it leaves you saying, "What happened?" It seems it was added to give the whiners something to play, but I just stick to Classic Multiplayer. FINAL OPINION This game created a brand-new world for FPS that seamlessly integrated Titans and Pilots. The bots added into the game do little but distract the player, but they make the game feel more like all-out-war. I wish the battles could feature more players and less bots, but the game-play is a win either way. This game will keep you playing it, just like CoD and BF did before it.

Buen producto
