I have a rescue sanctuary. My vet recommended bene bac 20 yrs ago for my rabbits. Rabbits, guinea pigs, possum, kittens, puppies, small and tiny whatever you got with a gut issue. Particularly after antibiotics, or gut event, post blockage , bloating etc... easy to feed very palatable.

I have 2 lion lop buns about 6 yrs old. They both have 'the snuffles' on and off which I treat w/antibiotics from the vet. Antibiotics can be rough on gut flora so I use BeneBac right after I dose the buns w/Baytril. They seem to like the taste and take it right off my finger. NOTE: I used to feed the rabbits a dose right from the tube. One of them very quickly chewed off the small dispensing nozzle on the tube & ate it. Which of course sent me into a panic. He was fine, but I would def. put the medicine on your finger, treat, whatever. I would also like to add my one bun has digestive issues and per the vet is on an ALL HAY DIET for many years now. Other foods, such as pellets, veggies etc... would give him 'poopy butt', Bene-Bac is easy on his stomach and there have been no poopy side effects in the many times I have dosed him.

My rabbit has been on antibiotics continuously for 6 months. Probiotics are a must to keep her from having GI issues, since antibiotics do a number on the all-important intestinal flora. I had used the tiny Bene-bac tubes from a local pet store before, but for a 10-pound rabbit this 15g tube is much more convenient. She gets 1 g every other day (the amount recommended for 10 pounds), and it is easy to measure and dispense. Supposedly pets like the taste of this stuff, but my bunny hates the texture (sort of gooey and oily, like vaseline). As thick as it was, she easily just spit the whole thing back out! But mashing it with a small bit of banana and some grated apple nicely disguises the texture and taste, and she enthusiastically eats it off the plate this way. Warning: If you want to try this with your rabbit, check with your vet first, because giving sugary things like banana and apple with stomach issues might make your bunny's situation much worse by feeding bad bacteria in the gut.I got my first tube from my vet when I asked him if he had any probiotics on hand. Since then I've bought it here (from Nature's Horse), because it is half the price and has an expiration date much further away -- a year vs. two months with what my vet had. Since probiotics contain live organisms, the expiration date is important. I will always keep a tube of this on hand for stressful situations that might compromise a sensitive bunny gut!Update Nov. 5, 2013: I now have several rabbits that are having issues with diarrhea, and with these bunnies I don't have to mix the Bene-bac with anything. I just put the requisite amount on the back of a teaspoon and every rabbit I have licks it off eagerly!

We rescued a days-old abandoned kitten, and on advice from our vet, we bought this probiotic gel to supplement with our little furball's Kitten Milk Replacer formula (we use PetAg KMR powdered formula). It seems to have helped with his tummy - he had some constipation, but adding the Bene-Bac Probiotic gel (per instructions) to his mixed formula - his tummy has settled and his stools now formed but soft, with no straining.The product can be given directly to the pet via their mouth, but our rescue kitten wasn't keen on that idea at all. So we added it to his formula bottles.My only "con" about this product is that being a gel, it doesn't mix very easily into our kitty's milk. It is thick, and the bottle has to be vigorously shaken .... initially and throughout a feeding, to keep it mixed & stop it from causing a clog in the kitten feeding teat.Other than that, we have seen benefits to our bottle fed newbie kitten's health, and he takes it mixed in his milk (well shaken) - without any hesitation.Overall, a good product, vet recommended, and has helped improve our rescue kitten's gut health.

I use this once a week for my pet mice. They love it and will eat it and it's very healthy for them.

I ordered this product because my cat had got nutered and he recoverd fine but got sick and I mean really sick 7 days after. They gave him a feline distemper vaccine after me telling them not to. So needless to say he had a bad reaction and stopped eating and drinking and I had to Force food n water for 5 days. He got better and then got diahreah so bad it was like water n blood and blowing gas so bad. Sence my vet is crappy I said I'm not taking him back there and I ordered this and tonic *4 and I gave him his 1st dose if this yesterday evening and needless to say he has no more diahreah. Thank u Amazon for having this stuff it saved me alot money. The vet wouldn't admit it was their fault so I had no choice to try this. I'm so glad I did. Guys you can't go wrong with this stuff it saved my cats life! He don't like the flavor tho,so I just wipe it in the roof if his mouth and it gos down. If ya have a oet with diahreah give this a shot you will b amazed.

I have a very senior bun whom I give this to weekly. She loves it. Maybe too much. She keeps trying to bite the tip off so I have to open it and spoon it out for her. It does seem to work well. Her poos are perfect looking since I started using it. She also gets a daily enzyme from Sherwood Forest along with their food. She is 12 plus so it all seems to be working well. I hope she keeps going strong for years to come.
