This toothpaste definitely changed the color of my teeth. I used to be a smoker and this definitely helped ! Its sensitive on my teeth and tastes minty. The texture is like a normal toothpaste. I do thinknits a little expensive, but it does the job.

Does not whiten teeth on its own u will need to use regular toothpaste also. This product gives a temporary white when used for prolonged period

So I have been using a variety of different Colgate Optic White toothpastes for several years. As per usual, some work better on my teeth than others but all give decent results. This particular "purple" version does an outstanding job on whitening my teeth and is the best Colgate whitening toothpaste that I have ever used. ..... but... That being said, after i used it the first time the inside of my mouth, my tongue and lips felt a little sore as if something had burned them slightly. Unfortunately, every time I use this toothpaste and see the beautiful white results, within a few minutes the burning begins and I am convinced that there is something either corrosive or caustic among the ingredients that while highly effective at whitening teeth are also burning and hurtng the inside of my mouth and my tongue. My tongue also turns purple and stays that way for quite a while. Not a good look . . . . . So maybe I am sensitive to the ingredients and I cannot tolerate it, which is my theory because I have not seen anyone else make note of burning in their mouth as part of their review of this product. I am now going to go back to the non-purple Optic White version and hopefully, all will be well. As I stated above, this provides a very fast and effective whitening of my teeth and it is pretty impressive. Hopefully all of you who try this out will not have the problems I have had.
