Oh my goodness, I love this kit so much! I already have worked a Woobles kit, which taught me the basics, and was able to pretty easily follow the instructions on this one - although the flippers did require watching their instructional videos several times. The yarn and hook are smaller than Woobles kits, and the instructions aren't as in-depth and polished, but this is a great next level project! It even came with a small snipper tool that makes it super easy to take my crochet projects on the go in my purse. And there were enough supplies I've made several more turtles out of the extra yarn and filling (I bought extra safety eyes on Amazon). So cute!

Overview: This caterpillar kit was awesome! The materials were easy to work with and the tutorial videos were great. I’ve never crocheted a day in my life before and it turned out so cute!! The instructions: It may not have been in completely perfect English in the booklet and the video, but it was no problem at all and super easy to follow! The booklet is a little daunting at first if you’ve never crocheted before like me, but it recommends to start with the video and I absolutely agree because it has great tutorials and walks you through every single step of the entire project, making everything so simple. By the end, I felt like a pro. Do be warned though, it shows a couple different methods for certain stitches which is great, but when following along just pay attention to which variation they’re using and stick to one so you don’t confuse yourself. They’re pretty clear about it though. (Extra tip I learned: If it’s not looking right, check your tension. This was my biggest problem at first.) The materials: Everything was top notch. The colors were vibrant, the string was soft and strong (I undid and redid whole rows sometimes multiple times for OCD and the string held up totally fine), the tools are great and will be reused for hopefully many more projects to come! The eye pieces were great and the stuffing was good as well. There was even leftover string for all of the colors so you don’t have to worry about making bigger or smaller stitches. Overall: This was a fantastic introduction to crocheting for me! It turned out so perfect, soft and squishy and warm and just so dang cute. I honestly didn’t expect how much I would love it. It would make a great gift for a kid or someone who’s having a baby. So, I highly recommend, you can tell the care and attention put into every piece of this product, and I would absolutely buy from them again. I’ve got the crochet bug now!

This is cute but not as beginner friendly as I thought. It was a bit of a struggle. It came with everything you would need which was nice .

Im still not done, but the video is easy to follow, i will admit knowing some of the basic knowledge of crocheting helps also the video needs to be watched in order to create the turtle, following the book alone will not give you accurate results. The string does separate into small strands but if you just hold it with good grip you can manage through it, it could be better but its workable and the results come out nice and solid with pretty colors in the end which is what matters. My son loves the turtle now i just need to work on the other two 💗✨🐢🐢

This yarn is a bit tricky since it was my first time making anything. The yarn kept splitting and its small and hard to see. If I could go back, I'd get some easy yarn instead. As a whole, this is a cite little kit with good instructions especially since my daughter helped me with what the Dec, stc, etc. Meant. Would make a good gift. I ordered 4 donut sets for my daughter's friends for valentines day. They are really cute!

Very difficult to do for a beginner. I would nit buy again unless you know how to crochet.

Christmas gift for my granddaughter. The instructions were hard for her to follow. She is 10.

I am often complimented on my patience, but if you saw me as I tried (multiple times) to simply get one of these projects started you’d never know it. I’ve tried to do this kit at least 6 times and every time I rage quit without getting so much as a single step done. The yarn sucks, constantly coming apart, and even when I managed to get a few stitches it’s impossible to see where one starts and another ends. I thought it was just me maybe being in a bad mood the first few times I attempted. It was not, this kit has never failed to ruin a perfectly relaxing day/evening. It is the single most frustrating project I have ever taken on. Id say if you’re trying to learn crochet from scratch, pass on this one. If you already know crochet and have a few projects under your belt it’s probably a good kit, but you still may want to bring your own yarn. Slightly unpopular opinion in the bad review category, I actually liked the tutorial videos. They helped me grasp the concepts of the different stitches, but execution fell apart mostly due to the yarn.

This crochet kit is kind of a mixed bag. On the one hand, if you stick with it and figure everything out, you end up with something super cute. But getting there? It's a bit of a hassle, to be honest. First off, there are no written instructions included, which is a bummer. And the videos they provide? Not all that helpful. So if you're hoping to dive right in and get started without any confusion, you might be in for a surprise. It feels like you're better off just buying some yarn and hitting up YouTube for tutorials that actually make sense. Also, it doesn't come with all the materials you need. That means you'll have to scout around for the missing bits and pieces, which is a bit of an annoyance, especially when you thought you were getting everything in one go. So yeah, while the end product is adorable, the journey there is kind of a headache. Might be easier to just do your own thing with some yarn and internet guidance.

This was bought as a gift and the box came damaged. This does not look good as a gift for someone. Looks like I bought a used product.
