I love this Crock-Pot!
This is a vast improvement over my old basic Crock-Pot. As a working mom and wife, I use it all the time. Especially now, with winter coming, it is so great to come home to a hot meal. I can put meals in before I leave for work, and by the time I get home I can just whip up a side dish (rice, potato, etc) and we are ready to eat. I don't necessarily need the locking lid feature (in fact the buckles get in my husband's way and he gets rather fussy), but the "keep warm" function is fantastic. I am typically gone from my house for 11 hours, so cooking a meal for 10 hours and then keeping it warm for 1 is perfect, whereas with my old unit (2 temps - low or high only) would cook and cook and cook until I came home to turn it off, resulting in some overcooked and dried out meals. It is also a little bigger than my old one, affording me the space to prepare a meal for 10 people. Highly recommended.

My first crock pot meal was a total success :-)
Today I got the chance (and the time) to use the Crock Pot for the first time and was very pleased with the result. I have a nice kitchen and great counter tops but sometimes lack the enthusiasm to prepare decent food. There are times when I cook and wonder why I don't do it more often and today was one of those occasions. I prepared a meal for two, which included A 2lb 'London Broil' beef joint for about $12, seasoned with herbs. I chopped up carrots, zucchini, potatoes, onions, garlic, green beans and a small amount of broccoli. I used 1 cup of beef stock (2 cubes melted in hot water using a jug). I put everything together in the pot and set the heat for 6 hours. When I served the meal, the meat was so tender and succulent. The stone wear-like bowl was easy to clean and the lid washed up new again after a brief soaking. It gets quite hot during cooking, so make sure you use a dish cloth to handle it. There was a subtly unusual taste accompanying the flavors of the meat, stock and vegetables. Although I rinsed out the pot before first use, I think it may have been the initial heat fumes coming from the element or the stoneware. Someone else gave a review complaining about a similar taste, but I'm prepared to wait and see if it goes away with use. Otherwise, I would definitely give it 5 stars and may upgrade my rating after more cooking experiences with the crock pot in future.I have one confession to make: I got some recipe instructions from my room mate's Mum on the phone and she warned me not to put too much water or salt into the mix. Her advice was spot on and for my first try-out, I have to say I am quite proud of myself and the purchase. It does what it says on the tin, just be sure to pick the right ingredients and set the amount of time you want for cooking (4, 6 8 or 10 hours for "slow" cooking).I'm not a chef, but if you have half-hour to prepare the veggies and put a little pride into the meal, you won't be disappointed. I recommend the product for experienced and (like me) novice cooks who like to dabble in the kitchen when the moment comes along.

I love this crockpot
I love this crockpot! The inside crockery part is heavy, but I really like that it comes out for cleaning. I've always been able to clean it easily quickly, with minimal mess. I haven't cooked with it a lot, but I've made it to make curry, chicken, and spiced cider. It's worked very well for all of these purposes. The lid seals well, and I haven't noticed any leakage. The lid can be secured for transport and storage, which is *so* handy. I'm a total butterfingers, and it's a real relief to be able to clamp down the lid when I'm moving it (not when it's on, of course!). Can't rate it highly enough.

Easy cooking
I use this for most of my cooking especially during the summer when it is to hot to turn the range on. I make pasta sauce in it. I also make pulled pork, chicken dishes in it. Just put ingredients in the pot and turn it on, set the time and walk a way. It will automatically turn down to warm when done.
